The Child’s Journey A family navigation program
Helping the family system thrive during a common phase of development known as the Nine-Year Change.
Explanation of the Nine-Year Change
The Nine-Year Change is a significant developmental shift that occurs typically between age 8.5 and 10 years old. The Waldorf approach best describes it as the point in time when children begin to question previously accepted beliefs about themselves - and their place in the world. They start to wonder about their purpose and may experience larger fears and worries compared to those of earlier childhood.

Outcomes of the program
The Nine-Year Change can be frightening for children, but with proper support and emotional nourishment, it can also be a time of significant growth and discovery. Through this program, families will:
visit this change as a community of curious caregivers,
support each other in the unique experience we each will have as this time unfolds for our child,
receive simple practices designed to strengthen family connections,
and enhance understanding of the child’s awakening to both who they are and what the world is about around them.
Caregivers will be equipped with information to support the child’s “waking up” with care and compassion, navigating the transition with a deeper sense of understanding and empowerment to rely on during this stage…and for many years of change to come.
